The Meta Story

A course about making courses is like a speech on how to make speeches, a movie about how to make movies, or a Wordpress blog about how to make Wordpress blogs. This is what we call "meta" -- it's self-referential. And this can be both awesome and confusing. I'm going to strive for awesome!

As you work through COURSE CRUSH, you'll also be observing a real-life course in action -- it's marketing, it's content, it's support. I need you to pay attention not only to what I teach, but what you see me do and say and show in this course.

I am teaching by example as much as I am teaching with information and hands-on exercises.

To help remind you to focus not only on the steps of the course, but also the meta aspect of the course, I include notes prefixed with "Meta" -- these are notes pointing out what I'm doing in a specific section of the course that can help you with your own courses.

For example:

Meta: Here I am explaining a special situation in this course that I want my students to be aware of, and showing them how to keep an eye out for it.
